Written Prescriptions Policy
We are happy to write prescriptions for your pet. We must have an active veterinary-client-patient relationship in order for us to write a prescription. If we have not seen your pet recently, or have not diagnosed the medical issue the medication is for, we will need to examine your pet. For online pharmacies we prefer to fax the prescription directly to the pharmacy. They will generally contact us once you’ve made your order if they require a prescription.
General Practice Refill Policy
The same staff that works with the general practice doctors also fills the prescriptions. Since we do not have a staffed pharmacy, we do ask for a 24 hour notice on all drug refills. This allows our staff to get the refill approved and filled in-between appointments and minimizes your waiting time. Our general practice staff will be available to take refill requests, obtain approval, and dispense medications Monday – Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 8am-4pm.
Specialty Practice Refill Policy
The same staff that works with our specialty practice doctors also fills the prescriptions. Since we do not have a staffed pharmacy, we do ask for a 24 hour notice on all drug refills. This allows our staff to get the refill approved and filled in between appointments and minimizes your waiting time. Our specialty practice staff will be available to take refill requests, obtain approval, and dispense medications Monday – Thursday 8am-6pm.
Emergency Service Refill Policy
Following treatment at Arboretum View Animal Hospital, your family veterinarian will resume primary care of your pet. Should the need arise for your pet to seek care provided by our specialist or emergency and critical care veterinarians, we would be privileged to be of service to your pet through referral by your family veterinarian. Any medications dispensed by our emergency department should be refilled by your regular veterinarian, unless otherwise directed.
