Service Dog Program
Arboretum View Animal Hospital is extremely excited to announce the continued success of our Service Dog Program. This program benefits the Service Dogs for the Chicagoland Police Departments as well as Search and Rescue Organizations. Due to the dedication of our staff and our high standards of care, participation has increased to over 85 canines.
We have hosted seminars on First Aid, Trauma Care, and Preventative Medicine for the Illinois Police Work Dog Association and the North American Police Work Dog Association. We also offer individualized training in First Aid, CPR, and Trauma Care. We believe that by educating their partners, we can increase the chances of survivial from severe field injuries.
Husky Heroes a Big Success
Arboretum View Animal Hospital was thrilled to sponsor this year’s event. It was cold, about 12 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25, but the Arboretum nonetheless was host to more than 6,000 visitors for one of the most fun events of the entire year: Husky Heroes. The warm sun, very little wind and excellent media coverage in the local newspapers helped deliver the nice turnout.
The event featured the Dogsled Spectacular, with Siberian Husky sled pulling and speed demonstrations. The Meet the Huskies opportunity brought out families in droves. Lucky members and visitors were able to meet these amazing canines “up close and personal” and were even able to sign up to foster or adopt. More
