ICU Visitation Policy
The hospital’s ICU doctors and technicians are committed 24 hours a day to providing the best care possible to facilitate a smooth recovery for your pet. The hospital has established the following visitation policy to help support the team in caring for each patient.
- Visitation hours are 10am to 5pm daily.
- It is not always possible for the technicians to receive phone calls while providing care for patients. You will always be immediately notified of major changes in your pet’s condition but if you would like periodic updates, please notify our receptionists and the technicians will return your call after making their rounds.
- Children under 14 years of age are not permitted in the ICU or treatment area.
- No food or drink is allowed in the ICU or treatment areas.
- The ICU doctor on duty shall determine where visitation will occur. As a rule, stable patients will visit with their families in the consultation room. Unstable patients will visit with their families in the ICU.
- Two people per patient are allowed in the ICU at any time.
- Visits are limited to 15 minutes.
- Families visiting the ICU are asked to refrain from touching other patients.
- Isolation is a restricted area and as such, clients will only be permitted to view or pet through the window as permitted by the ICU doctor. Potentially infectious patients may have visitation restricted by the attending DVM.
